As you all know, I'm sure, this is a time of financial uncertainty, and it thus behooves us to use our resources wisely. This goes not only for material goods, but also for less tangible stuff: if we can save mental effort in some realms, we may be able to put it more profitably to work in others. Thus I encourage everyone to follow my example and produce jokes which use either setups or punchlines that already exist (or, for real savings, to make new jokes by matching an existing setup with the punchline from a different, existing joke). For instance, this joke uses the technique of radical recontextualization to lend new life to its otherwise completely played out punchline, which is given below:
Q: What's purple and the victim of fratricide?
A: An Abelian grape.
What spends most of the time in the shop and is owned by a MacArthur Fellow?
Zorn's Lemon.
You people need to step up.

You need a joke-explaining blog.
